Virginia Work Registration Program
To continue to receive your weekly benefits, you must register at the Virginia Workforce Connection site. This site is a job search program that will connect you with employers in the state. It allows you to post a resume, receive job training, learn more about unemployment in Virginia, and maximize your job search success.
Importantly, when you apply for a job using this program, you can use it to qualify one of your job contact qualifications for receiving benefits. Create a person account, login, click on “Services for Job Seekers” and click on “Job Search” in the “Quick Menu.” Now, you can adjust the search to find appropriate work for your skillset.

What You Need for Work Registration
When you are filing for work registration in Virginia, you will need the following information:
- Social Security Number
- E-mail address
- Contact information (address, telephone number, etc.)
- Detailed work history (including wages, names of employers, and why you were let go or quit)
- Full history of education (including undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate work or vocational training programs)
- A detailed resume that presents this information in a simple and easy-to-read manner
