For employers, access to tax credits, screening assistance, and the help with recruiting can be obtained. Also, support can be provided if there will be a time that requires a reduction in the workforce. Finally, tax credits can be given to employers that opt to hire from populations that are normally difficult to place.

Workforce West Virginia also provides assistance to job seekers through professional counseling such as training, ongoing education, help with resumes, or job placement services. Special priority is given to veterans to ensure those that are qualified are appropriately matched with opportunities.

Most importantly, the unemployment office is responsible for collecting unemployment taxes from employers and appropriately distributing them to those that are qualified.
