Calculating Wyoming Unemployment Benefit Amounts
Determine Your Weekly Benefit Amount
Check your pay stubs and tax reports for the year to decide which quarter was your highest paying for your base period (as mentioned above).
Multiply your highest quarter by 4 percent and round down to the nearest whole dollar to get your Weekly Benefit Amount (WBA). Unemployment benefits range from $34 to $489 a week.
EXAMPLE: If your highest paid quarter was $9,585, you would multiply that amount by 0.04 to get 383.4. Round down to get $383.
Determine Your Maximum Benefit Amount
The maximum number of weeks you can receive unemployment benefits in Wyoming is 26. To gauge your MBA, simply multiply your WBA by 26.
EXAMPLE: Multiply $383 from the example in the previous section to get $9,968.40. The maximum amount that can be paid is $12,714.
