Arizona’s Unemployment Office

The Arizona Department of Economic Security handles much more than Unemployment Insurance. The Department is responsible for the oversight of most social service programs available to residents throughout the state.

The Unemployment Administration of Arizona and the DES work together to assist individuals claim benefits, train for careers, locate gainful employment, and more.

When you apply for unemployment benefits, the majority of your contact with the DES is through the internet and mail. In fact, the DES no longer accepts paper applications for initial claims; it’s all done electronically. However, there is help available for anyone who might not have access to a computer to fill out and submit applications at their local One-Stop Employment Center.
