Idaho Unemployment Insurance
Unemployment insurance is a benefit offered to Idaho residents if they find themselves out of work through no fault of their own to replace part of their lost income. The individual must be out of work as a result of being laid off, discharged for reasons other than misconduct, or in some cases voluntarily quit with good cause related to employment to qualify.
Unemployed? We want to help.
Benefits provided through Unemployment Insurance are funded through taxes paid by employers. The Idaho Department of Labor manages the unemployment insurance program in the state. The department collects taxes from businesses to fund benefits to unemployed individuals and also audits each claim to determine eligibility and benefit amount. The Idaho Unemployment Insurance program helps to keep the local economy stable during periods of financial crisis through financial assistance and efforts to place unemployed workers with available work.
