New Hampshire Unemployment Office
New Hampshire Office
The New Hampshire unemployment office and service is known as the New Hampshire Employment Security (NHES). The NHES provides unemployment benefits and compensation for qualifying unemployed workers. The NHES is made up of three separate bureaus. If you qualify to receive unemployment benefits in New Hampshire, you will likely work with all three bureaus in one way or another.
New Hampshire Employment Security (NHES) is a state agency funded by the federal government. The New Hampshire Unemployment law has been in effect in the state since November 1935. Since that time, the NHES has grown to offer 13 local offices across the state of New Hampshire. The agency collects taxes from employers, pays unemployment compensation to qualifying claimants, and operates free employment services through state-wide information and job centers.

The Unemployment Compensation Bureau (UCB) is responsible for paying unemployment compensation to qualifying claimants. This bureau is also responsible for collecting taxes from employers in order to pay benefits to future unemployed or underemployed workers.
The Employment Service Bureau and Operations (ESB) is responsible for helping workers find employment and for helping employers find workers. The ESB provides workers with information about the labor market, the economy, work search programs, and employment. Similarly, this bureau also provides employers with access to information about the labor market and the economy.
The Economic and Labor Market Information Bureau (ELMI) collects and distributes information about the labor market and the economy, as well as employment statistics. The information they provide is vital to helping unemployed and underemployed workers, researchers, and employers make decisions that promote economic opportunity in the state of New Hampshire.
