The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission pays unemployment compensation each week that you file a weekly claim until you reach your determined Maximum Benefit Amount. The best way to find out how much your weekly and maximum unemployment insurance benefits could be is to submit an application. To calculate how much support you may be eligible to receive, apply the following formulas to the wages earned during your base period.

Calculating Oklahoma Unemployment Benefit Amounts

Determine Your Weekly Benefit Amount (WBA)

The maximum Weekly Benefit Amount (WBA) for 2016 is $505. Your WBA is dependent upon your total wages earned in your highest-paid quarter. You cannot collect less than $16 per week in unemployment insurance benefits. To calculate your WBA, add up all your income from the quarter you earned the most, and divide the total by 23. Your WBA is 1/23 of your total high-quarter income.

Determine Your Maximum Benefit Amount

For 2016, the Maximum Benefit Amount (MBA) you can receive in one calendar year is $10,900. Your MBA will be the LESSER of the following:

  • 26 times your WBA or
  • 25 percent of the average annual wage or
  • 50 percent of your total yearly wages
